An Escape Rooted in Place

The Sonoita Inn was built in 1980 by Margaret Carmichael, co-owner of Secretariat, as a tribute to the horse and the land she loved. More than four decades later, it remains exactly what she intended: a place rooted in the history and character of Southern Arizona.

Where Stories Are Kept

Each of the inn's 18 rooms is named for a local ranching family with deep roots in the area. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with pillowtop beds, flat-screen TVs, and views of the surrounding mountains and grasslands.
